PALERMO – The agents of municipal police of Palermolast weekend, as part of the control activities aimed at combating the hours of sale and administration of alcoholic beverages and spirits to minors, and beyond the permitted hours, in compliance with the rules contained in the new nightlife Regulationsintervened in the Lincoln and Rome streets. Almost seven thousand alcoholic drinks in glass containers and almost six thousand alcoholic drinks in cans were seized. High fines of almost 15 thousand euros And two businesses closed for five days.

In the first room in via Lincoln/Rome, at the time of the inspection the owner was selling takeaway drinks in glass containers and alcoholic drinks after 10pm to numerous customers, all identified. We proceeded to administrative precautionary seizure of 2,272 alcoholic and spirit drinks in glass containers and 2,973 alcoholic drinks in cans.

The complaints apply:

  • fine of 50 euros because he sold drinks in glass containers outside the permitted hours;
  • fine of 50 euros because he sold alcoholic beverages outside the permitted hours;
  • report of 2,000 euros for the serious and evident structural health and hygiene deficiencies of the premises.

Subsequently, with SUAP ordinancethe additional sanction will be applied with the forced closure of the business for five days.

In the second restaurant, also in via Roma, after an observation activity in the vicinity of the business, the agents noticed that the owner was selling takeaway alcoholic beverages after 10 pm to numerous customers, including several identified minors, who then consumed them on the nearby steps of the Central Post Office building. The owner also sold takeaway drinks in glass containers and cans after 10 pm, administered alcoholic and spirit drinks, in assisted mode, at the counter and sold alcoholic drinks and spirits after midnight.

We then proceeded to administrative precautionary seizure of 4,449 alcoholic and spirit drinks in glass containers and 1,661 alcoholic drinks in cans.

Claims applied:

  • fine of 50 euros because he sold drinks in glass containers outside the permitted hours;
  • fine of 50 euros because he sold alcoholic beverages outside the permitted hours;
  • fine of 50 euros because he sold takeaway alcoholic drinks to minors;
  • fine of 50 euros because he administered alcoholic drinks to minors;
  • report of 50 euros because he published special alcohol offers after 10 pm;
  • fine of 50 euros because he did not display a specific information sign for the public inside the premises.

Other complaints:

  • report of 333 euros + 333 euros (Law 189/2012) because he administered alcoholic drinks and spirits to two minors;
  • report of 6,666.67 euros (Law 120/2010) because he sold and administered alcoholic beverages and spirits beyond midnight;
  • fine of 5,000 euros (Law 287/1991) because he administered alcoholic beverages and spirits in assisted mode at the counter without the required qualification.

Subsequently, by order of the SUAP, the additional sanction will be applied with the forced closure of the premises for five days.
