Clash between CGIL and the Municipality of Benevento: the PD intervenes

“We had already intervened in recent weeks to report what is happening with the staff of the Municipality of Benevento: a serious situation between transfers and job changes and the head-on clash with some trade unions, above all the CGIL.

It is worrying that a trade union organization like the CGIL was forced to even turn to the Labor Judge for the organisation’s anti-union behaviour: a fact which highlights the Municipality’s total unavailability for dialogue, whereas dialogue should instead be a fundamental cornerstone.

A modus operandi which, as mentioned, results in a reduction in the quality of the services offered, given the constant tension experienced and job changes often made, as the union denounces, in a total absence of motivation.

It is clear that suddenly changing jobs to employees who have been working on something completely different for years affects the quality of the work and evidently the services provided to users.

At the same time, the agreement with the unions is also bypassed regarding the use of the bodycam for municipal police officers: a factor which in our view can also be a positive innovation, but not to the detriment of the staff and not excluding trade unions totally from the discussion on the matter.

The councilors of the Democratic Party group once again take the side of the workers of the Municipality of Benevento and alongside the unions, asking the administration to intervene to restore rights and positive dialogue with the organisations”.
