FOGGIA. A vast anti-drug operation between Puglia and Molise began at the first light of dawn today. The State Police of Foggia carried out a precautionary custody order against 12 people for the crime of illicit production, trafficking and possession of large quantities of narcotic substances which occurred in various centers of the province but in particular, aThe inside of a house in Campomarino. Ten people ended up in prison and 2 confined to house arrest. The arrests took place in the municipalities of San Nicandro Garganico, Apricena, Cagnano Varano and Campomarino. All are accused of production, trafficking and possession of narcotic substances.

The investigation, started in 2022, arose from an activity by the San Severo police station which, together with colleagues from the Foggia Flying Squad, made it possible to collect serious indications of guilt against the 12 suspects. In fact, the recipients of the precautionary measure showed a marked delinquent capacity due to the ‘modus operandi’ through which the transfer, or in any case the offer to third parties, of doses of narcotic substances would take place.

The squares, probably used for the purchase and sale of narcotic substances, were chosen in contexts in which the presence of foreigners was noted with a certain ease. In addition to thisquick appointments were arranged with regular consumers to whom they would deliver portions of the narcotic substance daily, in ever-changing places, to evade any checks by the Police Force.

Engaged in this morning’s operation were agents from the San Severo Police Station, the Foggia Flying Squad, the Crime Prevention Department, dog units and a heliport.
