A near-tragedy occurred last night on the Maiori seafront where a moving car overturned and hit three vehicles parked along the road. The crash occurred shortly after 2.00 am near the intersection with Via Nuova Chiunzi: a 25-year-old from Tramonti was driving the Audi A3.
The cause of the impact was probably the driver of the vehicle falling asleep. His car, out of control, went straight into parked cars at the intersection, then overturned in the center of the road.
For him, fortunately there were no serious consequences other than some lacerated and bruised wounds to the face caused by the impact against the windshield (shattered) and multiple bruises. Luckily at the time of the crash there were no other people on the street otherwise we would have had to talk about something else. If the impact had occurred fifteen meters earlier – where the premises are – it could have caused a massacre.
Young people from the surrounding premises immediately rushed to the scene: shortly afterwards the Carabinieri from the Aliquota Radiomobile arrived to investigate the case. The young man from Tramonti, stunned, was taken to the emergency room in Castiglione for the necessary treatment. The toxicological tests he underwent were negative.
