Crc Foundation: Gola towards the presidency, Cuneo’s aspirations risk being drastically reduced

Yesterday afternoon the “era” of Ezio Raviola from Monregale as president of the Crc Foundation came to an end. The last General Council approved the budget and appointed the 20 new councilors. In practice the successors. A meeting to formalize what the designations of the various bodies and the selections between triads and tenders by the evaluation commission had revealed in recent weeks. With the satisfaction of leaving the new governance with a record budget.

Then Raviola’s formal resignation. «Today an important chapter in my life closes and a new challenge opens – this is the reflection that he immediately entrusted to social media -. I leave behind 8 years of intense commitment, concluded as president of the Crc Foundation. Eight years faced with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility, full of emotions and memories that I will always carry with me. Eight years of service in which I worked alongside a unique and extraordinary community, ours. Eight years of challenges, of difficult and painful moments, but also of great satisfaction and goals achieved. Results achieved thanks to great teamwork: thanks to those who shared this journey with me. From tomorrow a new challenge opens up in Compagnia di San Paolo, a reality in which I will be able to continue with passion to dedicate myself to the future of my territory.” And from the area, the mayor of Mondovì Luca Robaldo: «To him I extend my gratitude and that of the entire Monregalese community for the attention he wanted to reserve. There have been years of listening and fruitful collaboration that have allowed our city to grow and develop. The most sincere wishes, then, for his future professional career which will be equally full of successes and satisfactions.”

But the game of renewing the Crc leadership is far from over. The games are open until May 3, the date by which the president must be elected. Whose candidacy must be presented from a list of at least 7 names. And to win you need eleven.

The Board of Directors is made up of the president, two deputies and 4 councilors. Who can be part of the General Council (in which, therefore, they will have to be replaced by the bodies that designated them in the first phase) or be of external origin (up to a maximum of three can be co-opted). And here the brawl breaks out. The problem is not only in the presidential candidacy, which seems to have been resolved to the advantage of Mauro Gola (he would have the necessary votes). The contextual transition also concerns positions on the Board of Directors. If the president is from Cuneo, the Statute provides that the deputies are representatives of the other two historical areas of the Foundation, namely Alba and Mondovì: the confirmation of Francesco Cappello can be expected, while a woman, Elena Merlatti or Marina Perotti, could come from the Monregalese area. But the name of Mirco Spinardi is not excluded.

The problem, if anything, could be the Municipality of Cuneo. In the logic of winners and losers, the other candidate at the top, the former mayor Federico Borgna, may not find a place. Mayor Manassero can choose to indicate Luisa Cavallo, but she still has to deal with her majority, made up of the Pd, but also of Centro per Cuneo, Cuneo Solidale Democratica and Crescere Insieme, as well as the councilor of the mixed group . Four souls who often don’t think the same way (not even within themselves). There is still room for negotiation. But the aspirations of the capital risk being drastically reduced. ps
