Healthcare, the League: “Enough with closed agendas”

The regional councilors Catellani and Delmonte: “The Region does not respect the commitment to activate the taking charge agendas”

REGGIO EMILIA – “The program “Fuori dal Coro” on Rete4 last night highlighted the problem of closed diaries in the healthcare companies of Emilia-Romagna, also denouncing the case of Reggio Emilia. This situation concerns the impossibility of booking specialist services. A phenomenon that, unfortunately, involves all the healthcare companies in the region, an issue that we have been trying to denounce for some time.”

The regional councilors of the League, Maura Catellani and Gabriele Delmonte, said this. “The health management of the ASL of Reggio Emilia – they added – did not want to make statements on the reasons why it is not possible to book specialist visits or tests”. Catellani and Delmonte recalled that the League “presented a bill over two years ago, first signed by councilor Daniele Marchetti, vice president of the regional health commission, which asked to always guarantee patient care. This project was rejected, despite proposing solutions for a fundamental right of citizens, who should not be told to “try again later” when trying to book through the Cup Desk.”

The League’s battle continued: “Despite the initial refusal – added Catellani and Delmonte – we managed to get the Regional Council to approve an act of direction which commits the Council to introducing the so-called “taking charge agendas”, i.e. parallel programs that guarantee patient care, thus putting an end to the phenomenon of closed diaries. Closed diaries create an army of people who, not being registered in the system, distort the monitoring data published online, which is why it is essential to combat it. The General Director of the health department, engineer Baldino, had promised the inclusion of these care agendas among the annual objectives of the regional health companies, a promise that to date we have not seen materialize. We therefore hope that this issue will be addressed as soon as possible.”

“We also anticipate that we are awaiting a response to a question we have submitted, hoping to see progress in the short term. We are talking about specialist services, therefore public health and well-being”, concluded councilors Catellani and Delmonte.
