Livorno 29 March 2024 – Nas close bakery in Shanghai due to health and hygiene deficiencies
Carabinieri checks on food safety continue during this Easter holiday period to ensure compliance with sector regulations also on typical products. The military of the The Livorno Anti-Tasting and Health Unit have in fact carried out several inspections in public food preparation and serving establishments in the city, in compliance with the monthly operational strategy aimed at “bakery products and confectionery products”.
As part of the service, the Carabinieri, following an inspection carried out in a bakery/pastry shop in the Shangay district managed by a 47-year-old from Livorno; they found some irregularities from a hygienic-sanitary point of view. In particular:
the local bread-making laboratory and the one used for food storage were found to be in poor hygienic and sanitary conditions. Previous dirt on the floor, encrustations, grease on systems and equipment, as well as the widespread presence of insects (midges and ants).
The military therefore imposed a fine of 1,000 euros on the manager, at the same time also requesting the intervention of personnel from the North West Tuscany Health Authority who ordered the immediate suspension and inhibition of the activity, which has an estimated value of 300 thousand euros.
