Streamlining of bureaucratic procedures for payments to agricultural entrepreneurs, optimization of the water resources of the reservoirs, strengthening of agricultural education and training, careful management of the wild boar emergency. These are just some of the topics discussed yesterday within the Board of Directors of the Provincial College of Agricultural Experts and Graduated Agricultural Experts of Matera, which approved the final balance sheets for 2023 and the budget for 2024. Matera technicians have been present as a professional category in the area for over 60 years old and have around 300 members. “We agricultural experts – declares the president Giuseppe Silvaggi – intend to continue to give our active contribution to the development of the Lucanian primary sector and therefore we intend to develop a program to be presented to the candidate presidents and councilors of the various political parties to the Basilicata Region in order to to make the Lucanian agricultural and agri-food sector increasingly competitive”. Among the issues identified by the Matera agricultural experts there is also that of the establishment of an ITS/Higher Technical Institute in the Matera area with specialization in agri-food, which has been discussed for some time. It is an Institute that can act as a highly specialized center for young people who graduate from agricultural institutes and which operates in a modern vision through innovative educational programs, fully integrated into those methods contained in the principles of food security and ecological transition. All this to equip the Lucanian and Matera primary sector with new additional professionalism in times of green economy and environmental emergency, in order to ensure that students achieve valid and usable technical preparation.
