ANCONA A confidence that opened Pandora’s box. She opened up to that friend who she saw as a safe haven and confessed the nightmare she experienced when she was in the midst of adolescence. “I was abused by my dad” a 17-year-old of Asian origin would have revealed to her friend amidst fear, shame, but also a lot of courage.
It was the latter who received the call for help and reported everything to the police. From there, the investigation began, carried out by the deputy prosecutor Valentina D’Agostino and reached a turning point yesterday morning with the evidentiary incident before the investigating judge Carlo Masini where the 17-year-old was heard in a protected form. The girl’s testimony, assisted by the lawyer Giulia Remia, could be used in a possible trial, if she were to be brought before the criminal panel. Not only was the young student’s father registered on the register of suspects for sexual violence, but also her mother. This is a moral contest: according to the prosecutor’s hypothesis, the woman did not do everything in her power to protect her daughter. A hypothesis, obviously, still to be demonstrated considering that we are in a preliminary phase of the investigation, conducted by the Flying Squad and which exploded last autumn, with that shocking confession.
The reconstruction
The 17-year-old told that friend that she had been abused by her father when she was a teenager. The alleged violence dates back to the period between 2021 and 2022. The horror would have taken place within the home. For a couple of years, the girl remained silent about the hell she experienced and the harassment she suffered from her parent, then the pain exploded. At first, the young girl would have made her mother understand the discomfort she felt. The woman would have thus removed her daughter from her home. Then, the telling story to her friend and the report made at the police station with the opening of a sexual assault case. The girl was placed in protection and yesterday she arrived in court to testify in a protected way about what happened between 2021 and 2022 in her house. The evidentiary hearing was requested by the prosecutor’s office.
The unavailability
The father, defended by the lawyer Andrea Coen, has in the meantime remained unavailable. Her mother, assisted by the lawyer Francesca Petruzzo, ended up under investigation for – according to her prosecutor’s office – not having fully protected her daughter and having filed a complaint against her husband. It is, therefore, a moral contest.
