The notice of expression of interest in the reception of citizens with recognized disabilities by bodies managing semi-residential social-welfare facilities such as day centers for disabled minors and adults has been published. This was announced by the councilor for social policies, Giusy Pino, specifying that the measure concerns the territories belonging to the territorial social area of Catanzaro for the carrying out of actions supplementary to family activities. “The general objective of the program financed under the Fund for non-self-sufficiency is aimed at improving the quality of life of disabled people and their caregivers. An important support, therefore, for all accredited structures that respond to the fundamental need for social inclusion of people with disabilities. Day centres, in particular, represent irreplaceable facilities for the socio-educational action they perform. The municipal administration therefore intends to invest the available resources in support interventions for disabled people that promote autonomy and integration and offer concrete support to the family unit”.
