Disabled van off the road, serious injuries rise to 2. Maybe there was a fault – L’Aquila

THE EAGLE. The number of seriously injured people in yesterday’s accident with the minibus for transporting disabled people going off the road and ending up on an embankment in Alto Sangro has risen to two (out of six): the two disabled people, aged 50 and 60, are not in danger of life, but they are hospitalized with a reserved prognosis, one in the Sulmona hospital and the other in the San Salvatore hospital in L’Aquila where he was transferred by air ambulance this morning. The doctors, who monitor the clinical picture, are confident that both can overcome the critical phase. The other four injured people are also under observation, including the woman who was driving and another operator. Their conditions are not of concern.

The six were returning from Castel di Sangro where the association has opened an office for years to carry out all assistance and support activities for disabled people. The vehicle was then taking users home to their various places of residence. On a straight stretch, while proceeding towards the state road, he went off the road for reasons still under investigation. A mechanical failure of the vehicle cannot be ruled out, but further investigations are underway by the Carabinieri of the Castel di Sangro Company, called to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident and to ascertain any responsibilities.
