ROVIGO – The experimentation for the employment of asylum seekers in construction in the Province of Rovigo begins, in implementation of the memorandum of understanding of May 2022 stipulated between the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, Ance – National Association of Building Contractors and the sector trade union organizations Fillea Cgil, Filca Cisl and Feaneal Uil.
Following the path undertaken between the social partners in the context of the meetings held in the Prefecture during the year 2023, the implementation of the protocol was made possible through the activation of specific training courses by the Rovigo Building School – Assistedil, provided to asylum seekers welcomed in the Cas (Extraordinary Reception Centers) of Polesine who have requested it, after screening their personal and professional profiles in collaboration with the bodies managing the reception service for asylum seekers.
The training program, which follows the national Formedil lines, includes a first group of 80 hours of training, provided starting from the beginning of next April, and dedicated mainly to training in workplace safety and to improving knowledge of Italian language.
Subsequently, through the Gol project – the program envisaged by the Pnrr to strengthen the services of active labor policies, of which Assistedil is assigned for specific lines of intervention by the Veneto Region – two paid training courses were envisaged, one of short duration and one of medium duration, based on the applicants’ prior knowledge, of 46 and 160 hours of professional training respectively, in accordance with the provisions of the Repertoire of Professional Qualifications of the Veneto Region for the qualification of bricklayer.
The positive attendance of the courses will therefore allow the 21 recipients of the project to obtain the necessary knowledge and qualification for definitive employment in the construction field.
