“When the parish priest made the patterns (depending on who had received communion)”, Marino Bartoletti guest of the Contrada della Chiocciola. With a view to enhancing the original role of the districts as centers of aggregation and social and cultural promotion, on Thursday 4 April at 6.30 pm, the Contrada della Chiocciola returns to propose “Overtures. Meetings between music and culture in the crypt”, events in which the idea of openness, dialogue and comparison are fundamental.
The protagonist of the 2024 edition of the events in the Contrada della Chiocciola will be Marino Bartoletti, the historical face of Rai, who will speak on the topic: “When the parish priest made the schemes (depending on who had received communion)”. A journey that smells of nostalgia and moves through an Italy “made up” of many countries whose limit and – at the same time – greatest resource is being “provincial”.
And precisely the story of a provincial boy who played football in an oratory (with a football field equipped with a single goal “painted on the wall”) gives Marino Bartoletti the opportunity to retrace a series of unmissable anecdotes, capable of telling how that Italian province, sometimes snubbed and belittled, has instead been able to become great, thanks to imagination and creativity, its true “oil”.
Journalist, writer and television presenter, Marino Bartoletti is known for sports programs such as Domenica Stadio andQuelli che il calcio. He began his career in the editorial staff of the newspaper il Resto del Carlino, then moved to Guerin Sportivo. During the 1970s he wrote for Il Giorno as an expert on football and motors and in 1982 he made his television debut hosting The Monday Trial.
In 1984 he presented Domenica Sportiva then, in 1990, he moved to Mediaset to host Pressing on Italia 1. For the same network in 1991 he presented Domenica Stadio. In 1993 Marino Bartoletti returned to Rai to host the first season ofQuelli che il calcio together with Fabio Fazio and the two remained at the helm of the variety show until 2001. In 1996 he received the honor of Commander Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and in the same period the journalist founded Calcio 2000. In the 2000s he commented on major sporting events for Rai such as the Olympic Games, the Giro d’Italia, the Football World Cup and the Champions League. In the following decade he instead decided to exploit his knowledge of the music sector by becoming one of the regular guests of various Rai broadcasts in the period following and preceding the Sanremo Festival. Since 2017 he has been the author of several books starting with the children’s series “The Dream Squad” (the fourth volume dedicated to the Olympics will be released soon) and the very successful and award-winning “saga of the Gods” which currently has “The Game” in bookstores. degli Dei” and which will soon be integrated by a release entirely dedicated to the Sanremo Festival.
As usual, the evening will open with a musical moment featuring the flute trio Serena Michelassi, Assunta Di Palma, Francesca Panzolini, students of the “Rinaldo Franci” Higher Institute of Musical Studies, Conservatory of Siena.
