Demonstration in the square in Parma against the Calderoli bill on differentiated autonomy
Descriptive text here

On Monday 29 April the Calderoli bill enters the Chamber of Deputies, after the round of hearings which once again recorded a clear prevalence of those who say No to differentiated autonomy. The government has decided to move forward, despite pronouncements and evidence that highlight the disastrous consequences that autonomy will have on people’s lives, wherever they live; on the institutionalization of the already enormous inequalities that characterize the country; on the state budget, on the administrative chaos that the 20 different legislations of the new 20 small states will cause.

Although differentiated autonomy has conquered the front pages, the Meloni-Salvini duo, thanks to their unholy pact between differentiated autonomy and absolute premiership, is counting on the lack of awareness of the blows that will be dealt to democratic institutions to approve the Calderoli bill.

The government does not stop even in the face of harsh criticism from the CEI, the Parliamentary Budget Office, the Bank of Italy, and Confindustria itself. The government moves forward despite internal contradictions, primarily those of Forza Italia and the Calabria Region, which does not accept the CEO unless the Essential Performance Levels are first determined and guaranteed.

The government goes ahead by trampling on the Rules of the House itself, as happened with the Honourable’s amendment. Auriemma, who wants to be canceled despite having been approved by the Commission, to prevent it from returning to the Senate.

The Committees for the Withdrawal of All Differentiated Autonomy and the NO Ad Table will once again be in Piazza Garibaldi on April 29th, from 6.00 pm, to underline the constancy of their reasons. They will do so with demonstrations in many Italian cities, starting from Rome where, in Piazza della Rotonda, they will gather – as well as representatives of trade unions, political parties, associations and committees – various representatives of the parliamentary opposition, PD, M5S, AVS.

From Naples to Bologna, from Bari to Venice, from Catania to Turin, Trieste, Catanzaro, passing through Berlin, Brussels and Frankfurt, the voices of those who, for years, have been reiterating the inalienability of the principles of equality and solidarity will be raised: the Republic can’t be cut! The Republic is one and indivisible. Table No Differentiated Autonomy National Committee for the withdrawal of any differentiated autonomy, equality of rights and the unity of the Republic
