The new acting director of the Massa-Viareggio hospital pharmaceuticals operational unit was appointed last March 21st, with resolution 257, signed by the general director of the AUSL Tuscany North West, Maria Letizia Casani: this is Doctor Francesco Manteghetti. Manteghetti he graduated from the University of Parma and subsequently specialized at the Modena polyclinic with top marks. He continued his training with a master’s degree in clinical trials and one in pharmaceutical technologies and perfected his training with a master’s degree in human resources management. Within the USL Tuscany North West company Manteghetti held multiple operational roles, including that of simple departmental structure manager for the pharmaceutical sector of Massa-Carrara and also worked at the Meyer hospital in Florence as part of a specific agreement between healthcare companies. The hospital pharmaceuticals operational unit entrusted to the leadership of Manteghetti is spread over the hospital facilities of Massa, Viareggio, Carrara, Fivizzano and Pontremoli. Hospital Pharmaceuticals is entrusted with a variety of strategic activities that are essential to guarantee the operation of hospital departments and local services, as it is responsible for managing both the therapeutic needs within the structures and the needs of users who access the pharmaceutical points of continuity. The structures within the scope of the Hospital Pharmaceuticals which will be directed by Manteghetti include: the compounding galenic laboratory of the “Apuane” hospital in Massa, which guarantees chemotherapies for the Massa – Viareggio – Lunigiana area, as well as sterile setups essential for specific pathologies or cases; the non-sterile galenics laboratory of the “Versilia” hospital, which ensures essential therapies of strategic clinical importance for the entire company, not available on the market; the structures of Carrara, Fivizzano and Pontremoli, fully integrated into the operational and functional processes of the relevant hospitals and also active in the management of the pharmaceutical continuity points, essential links between the hospital and the territory. “I thank the company management for their trust and for the assignment of this new role – says Manteghetti, who will hold the new position starting from April – and it is my intention to carry it forward with the utmost commitment and above all with the intention of pursuing all the assigned company objectives.
