A young man was arrested in flagrante delicto by the Flying Squad policemen for aggravated robbery inside a betting center in Maera.

The man, 29 years old, armed with a large kitchen knife and with his face partially distorted, he threatened the employee, alone at the time of the incident, of the betting center, forcing her to hand over the day’s takings, equal to approximately 6 thousand euros.

Thanks to the analysis of the images of the Betting shop security cameras and also from the testimonies of some witnesses, the investigators managed to trace the identity of the robber and track him down quickly.

The man was found, shortly afterwards, at his workplace wearing clothes different from those used for the robbery but, in his home, hidden in the vegetation at the back of the house the officers found the entire sum of stolen money, as well as the weapon with which he had carried out the robbery. The clothes used for the robbery were also found shortly afterwards inside a rubbish bin, near the criminal’s home.
