It happened in the so-called “minor football”, and has already caused some irritation among the managers Casati Calcio, Arcore sports club fighting for the provincial title. Imagine if the story – a championship match between Under 17 boys that must be replayed because the referee literally “disappeared” and never delivered the official report to the Federation — had happened in Serie A. Because it works the same way in all categories: to be approved, and therefore valid for statistical and ranking purposes, a match requires the filing of the report drawn up by the match director. So all that remains is to get back on the field and play Ges Monza – USA Casati Calcio Arcore again on 24 September, the first day of the championship Under 17 students.
Then it ended with a hard-fought 2-3 for the guests (with some disputes). But, according to what emerged, of Daniel Solomona 21-year-old referee from the Seregno section, resident in Desio, has literally disappeared. He can’t be found, he doesn’t answer his phone or his messages, no one knows what happened to him or whether, possibly, he returned with his family to Romania, his country of origin. What matters, for the purposes of this story, is that Solomon never delivered the scoresheet for that match and therefore the result from six months ago cannot be ratified. Therefore the precious three points have been taken away from Arcore, waiting to play again. In this way, even with one game less, Casati narrows its advantage over its pursuer (All Soccer of Brugherio), who came close to minus 2 points.
The sporting outcome is contained in a cold press release issued in recent days by Sports judge: «The referee’s report for the match in question has not yet been received. Having ascertained the impossibility of finding the report and given the continuous unavailability of the Race Director, not being able to proceed with the approval, repetition is available». In many years of activity, something like this had never happened to Ermanno Redaelli, delegate of Monza and Brianza of the FIGC Lnd (National Amateur League): «All we needed was this one – he admits -. For the rest, Redaelli confirms that the referee is «currently unavailable, and has not given any further news. He no longer answered the phone and messages, he no longer participated in associative life and he was suspended by the Aia of Seregno. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has also initiated proceedings against him following failure to deliver the tender report. We waited until last week in the hope of being able to resolve the issue, but at this point we are forced to make the decision to replay the match.” The “ghost match” in Monza will most likely be recovered “at the end of the championship”.
