First day of the Rimini Police Headquarters campaign against scams targeting the elderly.
This morning, the State Police, with the collaboration of the Carabinieri and the Financial Police, promoted the first stage of an information journey aimed at combating fraud on the elderly, a particularly frequent phenomenon which affects the most fragile part of the population. citizenship.
At the center of the project is the dissemination of an information booklet, called “Beware of scams”, which took place in Piazza Tre Martiri, by the operators of the Police, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, which aims to protect the elderly by warning them against fraudulent conduct more often used against them, also explaining the strategies to be implemented to avoid falling into the scammers’ network.
The Prefect of the province of Rimini, the Mayor, the Police Commissioner and the Commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza present at the gazebo set up for the occasion, underlined the need to raise awareness also among the younger population for an effective protection of that group of people most exposed to the phenomenon, helping them to adopt risk prevention behaviours.
