PESARO Carpegna Prosciutto beats Vanoli and keeps the race for salvation open. Coach Romeo Sacchetti’s boys chased the score for several minutes but in the second half they found a great Matteo Tambone who allowed his team to first recover and then move ahead in the score (69-68). In addition to the captain, Vuelle still has a great performance from Cinciairini, McDuffie and Wright-Foreman.

The match

The first news of the evening concerns Vanoli without Denegri and Adrian, while the first applause of the evening is for the three former players who wore the Vuelle shirt, namely Paul Eboua, Trevor Lacey and Simone Zanotti. At the start of the match coach Sacchetti relies on Cinciarini, Tambone, Bluiett, McDuffie and Mazzola. The score is immediately broken by a basket from Eboua, while Carpegna Prosciutto with a two out of three in the triples tries to escape (8-4), but Vanoli remains in the wake (8-7) and immediately places a counter break of six two with Golden and Davis and takes the lead again (10-13). McDuffie brings the match back to a draw (13-13), while Wright Foreman gives the plus 3 (16-13).

The defence

Coach Sacchetti’s boys struggled a lot in defence, conceding 49 points in the first half and lost a few balls in a naive manner against Vanoli’s press area, who clearly did not want to allow Carpegna Prosciutto to run and thus a positive Eboua who scored 12 points, supported by McCullough who closed the first two periods of the game at 14, allowing Vanoli to continue leading even reaching plus 8 (34-42) before Vuelle managed to recover something before the long tea (43-49). At the start of the third set Cremona gets back within 8 (43-51), but Tambone starts his show and scores 21 points out of the 24 total on his scoreboard in the second half, allowing his team to recover in the scoreboard first and foremost (69-68 ), and then to move forward (75-72). Cremona with Zanotti takes the lead again (77-78), but Mazzola and McDuffie bring Vuelle back to plus-four (82-78), while Cinciarini gives the plus-5 which closes the match.
