PALERMO – Ban on lighting fires and using stoves in the entire territory of the Favorita Park and Monte Pellegrino, which constitute the “Monte Pellegrino Oriented Nature Reserve”. This is the summary of an ordinance issued today by the Green and Liveability Area. The bans will be valid on the occasion of Easter and Easter Monday (31 March and 1 April), for Liberation Day (25 April) and for Labor Day (1 May). 2 Rap bins will be positioned in the Favorita Park and one in the Monte Pellegrino area for the disposal of waste.

“The measure – said the mayor Roberto Lagalla and the Green Councilor Pietro Alongi – represents a responsible act of civility and respect towards the natural areas and the green lungs of our city. The hope is that there will be, on the part of the people of Palermo, that sense of responsibility which already last year, for example on the occasion of these holidays and the Ferragosto, manifested itself in a more sensitive way compared to previous years”.
