Create a broad cooperation area for library services. This is the objective of the meeting which brought together for the first time around a table the administrators of the nine Lombard library networks that are partners of the Bresciana Library Network (RBB): Bergamo, Como, Cremona, Mantua, Lodi, Sondrio, Varese, the Consortium North West Library System (CSBNO) in the Milan area and Culture Library Networks (CUBI) in the Milan and Brianza area.
“The objective of the meeting – declared Roberta Sisti, delegate councilor of the Province and president of the RBB – is to evolve the area of technical cooperation, created around the Province of Brescia, into an area of strategic and political cooperation. The Provinces – she then concluded – can play a key role in supporting libraries and promoting collaboration between institutions”.
Representing the Province of Como are vice-president Giovanni Alberti and the head of the Library Service. “The Province of Como fully supports the initiative aimed at creating a Lombard library network as it recognizes the importance of collaboration and sharing of resources in the cultural and educational field. We firmly believe – he stated – that by joining forces with other provinces in the region, we can create a richer and more stimulating cultural environment for all citizens, thus contributing to the progress and well-being of the Lombard community as a whole”.
