Carpi, Saltini attack: messages of solidarity – Politics

Messages aimed at the author of the exhibition set up in the context of Sant’Ignazio di Carpi continue to arrive in the editorial office

For years Lapressa.it has offered free and independent information to its readers without any type of public contribution. Private advertising covers part of the costs, but it is not sufficient. For this reason we ask those who read us and follow us every day to give us, if they wish, a contribution based on their possibilities. Even a small support, multiplied by the tens of thousands of people from Modena and Emilia-Romagna who read us every day, is fundamental.

Regarding the attack on Andrea Saltini, curator of the exhibition, which occurred this morning, the following press statements are sent.

Brothers of Italy Carpi: ‘On behalf of the Brothers of Italy I would like to express my closeness to Andrea Saltini, victim of a terrible attack this morning, to whom we also wish a speedy recovery.
We do not intend to go into the merits of the debate which in recent days has heated and divided many souls even outside the Carpi area. Violence can never be the right means to protest and express one’s ideas. We therefore express our firm condemnation of what happened. We trust in the work of the police to identify the culprit.’ This was declared by Federica Carletti, city secretary of Fratelli d’Italia.

Saint Michael the Archangel Association: ‘The San Michele Arcangelo Association – states Simone Ortolani, contact person for the awareness campaigns – expresses profound disdain for the act of violence perpetrated against Mr. Andrea Saltini, author of the disputed works exhibited in the ‘Gratia Plena’ exhibition, set up in the context of the Church of Sant’Ignazio di Carpi.

We condemn in the strongest terms any form of violence. We express solidarity and prayers for Saltini’s rapid and complete recovery and we trust in the timely and accurate investigation of the competent authorities so that the attacker is identified and subjected to the right penalties for this deplorable act.
In this painful affair, the total lack of discernment and common sense is evident even on the part of those who should have dialogued to avoid exasperating feelings and creating painful fractures in the community, and the consequences are there for all to see. The San Michele Arcangelo Association invites reflection on these serious events and renews its commitment to promoting peaceful and respectful dialogue within society.
