Sassari, Senegalese returns a lost wallet

«When he approached me I told him: “Now sorry, I don’t have time: I’m worried about something”. I’m almost ashamed of it.” Because that Senegalese boy didn’t want to sell her goods: he wanted to give her back the wallet full of cash that she had just lost.

Katia Multineddu is a sales agent and has decided to tell the story of the misadventure, with a happy ending, that happened to her this morning «near the gardens, in Sassari. Now I would like to help Abdul, that’s the name of the Senegalese boy, to find a job: that’s what he asked me.”

It all starts with losing your wallet. He had just taken it and inside «there was a fair amount. I retraced the road two or three times, but I didn’t find any trace.”

At a certain point «a Senegalese boy calls me and says: “Are you looking for this? I found it on the ground'”. The young man brought her the lost item and invited her to count the money inside. She didn’t, but it was all there: «A boy without work, without money but with a lot of dignity», says Multineddu, who underlines: «He didn’t even want the reward. “Find me a job,” he asked me.” Multineddu discovered that Abdul «he knows how to work in the kitchen, he is a taekwondo instructor, but he can do everything». This is why he relaunched the story on a well-known Sassari Facebook group: “I’m waiting for someone to contact me to offer them a job.”

The suggestions are pouring in. She and the young man exchanged telephone numbers: «I sent him some proposals that I received. Then he told me that he would like to try to go to Corsica: I’ll help him do it. He’s already been there. If he finds nothing here, he will consider the offers made to him.”
