Acireale (Eurogol by Cangemi) defeats Vibonese and finds itself in the wake of Real Casalnuovo. A victory that is worth double for the Granata, the one obtained against the third strength of the championship: armored category and playoff prospect that becomes concrete. At 46, just one point behind the Campania team but with one more match to play (and without considering the field factor that benefits them in the direct match scheduled in two weeks), Sasà Marra’s eleven certainly have good chances to close the season with a prestigious placing.
Acireale determined and clear against an excellent Vibonese
Good profile match, at Aci and Galatea, between two teams in good health. Orderly and attentive, Vibonese made herself very popular in the first half of the game. Not only did he contain the Granata’s initiatives well but he also enjoyed a good opportunity to take the lead: Ciotti put the arrow on the wing and served Favetta who, a few steps from Zizzania, hit the crossbar squarely. Dragged by an excellent Cicirello, the Granata persisted and in the 36th minute took the lead: the former Sant’Agata player jumped the opponent’s defensive line and served Cangemi who, in acrobatics, scored a masterpiece goal. Guests outnumbered at the end of the first half: a bad intervention by Malara (already booked) against Cicirello costs the rossoblù attacker a red card.
Vibonese with ten men for the entire second half, Acireale controls the match, wins and reaches sixth place
Buscè revolutionized Vibonese at the start of the second half (four substitutions after the break) but Acireale kept the reins of the match firmly in their hands, coming close to doubling their lead several times. In the 54th minute Zuppel served by Cangemi, from a good position, misses the target. Then it’s Lucchese who tries with a shot from distance that ends up on the outside of the net. Tired and with one man less, Vibonese still remained in the race until the end, even managing to make herself dangerous. In the 85th minute, in fact, a shot from a tight angle by Ciotti worried Acireale, but it went just wide. In full recovery, Marra’s team (good management of the match by the coach) failed to double the lead with Palma. The only flaw, in the context of a happy day, was Zuppel’s warning: the former Virtus Francavilla, on a warning, will be forced to miss the away match in Agrigento.
