If we think that the results of the latest territorial surveys indicate places of greatest fragility, after the family, the school, oratories or parishes and sports facilities, we realize that networking is not just an opportunity, but an emergency. Towards the diocesan conference on 26 and 27 June

To answer this next June 26th and 27th all pastoral workers will be summoned, starting from the lay people most involved with minors and families, and from the priests, in a diocesan conference whose eloquent theme is “Let’s take care of ourselves” that starts one culture of care and preventioneven in our territories.

Welcoming, listening, protecting, preventing, training must be the key words that confidently guide those who take care of the victims, so that they find safe points of reference in them, to emerge from oblivion and silence towards every fragility.

Shared commitment to protect minors and the most vulnerable

The Italian Church has undertaken a path to protect minors and vulnerable adults which in the last three years has seen teams of experts set up throughout the territorythe vast majority of whom are lay people, to testify to their increasingly important role in this ecclesial service.

The ecclesial and social community must be increasingly dedicated to protecting with an essential and constant commitment the little ones, those loved by the Lordso that the Church, as Pope Francis says in his speech on 7 March to the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors «is always and everywhere a place where everyone can feel at home and every person is considered sacred».
