BARI – Starting from tomorrow afternoon, Friday 29 March, as already communicated to the Region on 26 March, Anas will proceed with the temporary suspension of work along the entire route, to facilitate traffic in view of the exodus scheduled for the Easter long weekend.

The activities will resume on Tuesday 2 April and will continue, for the most part, until the end of next May 2024, with temporary construction sites from Monday to Friday with the exception of specific paving and signage works planned, also by the Extraordinary Commissioner, in view of the G7 scheduled in Borgo Egnazia.

Since the start of the activities it was deemed appropriate to ask the prefects of Bari, Brindisi and Lecce to convene specific VOCs (operational-traffic committee) capable of providing indications regarding the construction site methods, in anticipation of departures and returns on the occasion of the upcoming Easter holidays.

Anas remembers that the interventions currently active along the Bari-Brindisi-Lecce route fall within the scope of extraordinary maintenance for the redevelopment of the entire route, an important connecting artery on which Anas aims to raise the levels of safety and driving comfort, for high daily traffic flows, as well as during periods of tourist exodus.

In consideration of the characteristics of the infrastructure and the particularities of the work, it was essential to divide the construction sites into sections, to mitigate the impacts of road traffic.
