He hit him in the neck with a knife and then ran away. An unknown person attacked the artist Andrea Saltini inside the church of Sant’Ignazio di Carpi, in the province of Modena, where the ‘Gratia Plena’ exhibition, by Saltini himself, is underway and is at the center of heated controversy as it is believed by some blasphemous.

The aggression

With his face covered by a mask, a man entered the church and damaged one of the works at the center of the controversy with a knife, also daubing it with paint sprayed with a spray can. According to initial reconstructions, the artist attempted to stop the attacker who then stabbed him in the neck. Saltini, transported to hospital, is not believed to be in serious condition. Immediately afterwards the man fled, probably leaving a wig in the church. Digos men and the forensic police immediately intervened on site.
