Milan, 28 March. After a furious argument with her partner, she threatened to throw herself off a bridge. It happened to a 34-year-old on the afternoon of March 23rd, in Fagnano Olona, in the Varese area.

The man’s partner, a 42-year-old resident of the city, alerted the police. To the military, the woman explained that she had had a violent argument with her partner, for trivial reasons. He had pushed and pulled her and she had fled into the street. After reaching her, he had stolen her cell phone, with which she was calling for help, throwing it to the ground. The police, who arrived on site, broke up her argument, then accompanied the woman to the barracks to collect her testimony. A couple of hours later, the man sent messages and photos to the victim’s cell phone showing him on the Cairate bridge, announcing that he would commit suicide.

The prompt intervention of the Carabinieri from the Cassano Magnago station, together with a patrol from the Tradate lieutenancy, was able to avert the worst. After a brief conversation with the military, in fact, the man gave up and was transported to the Sant’Antonio Abate hospital in Gallarate for the necessary visits and health checks.
