New municipal police service operation against illegal commercial activity. The checks are carried out in the Corso Tukory area.

In Via Pisacane/Marinuzzi a trader was fined for illegal occupation of public land and for having installed a sunshade without authorisation. The same was reported to the Prosecutor’s Office. A complaint for lack of the Dia sanitary certificate was instead filed against another trader, in Piazzetta Porta S. Agata. At the same time, 350 kilograms of food were seized with consequent fine for lack of sales authorization certificate.

Finally, in the area adjacent to the Children’s Hospital, the men from the Public Area Commercial Activities Control seized approximately 150 kilograms of fruit as well as some racks used for sale to a street trader. He also fled, taking advantage of “the intervention of some people – as stated in a note from the municipal police – who attempted to hinder the ongoing operation”

“We continue and will continue on this path – commented the municipal police commander Angelo Colbird -. Palermo deserves decorum, respect and livability. Elements necessary for the city to assume the role of Mediterranean metropolis that it deserves”.

The municipal police command announced that “The over 500 kg of fruit and vegetables seized were donated to assistance and charity associations”. On the sidelines of the anti-illegal operations, the traffic police units present to support their colleagues sanctioned numerous vehicles for illegal parking.
