Another two ‘green’ days with the city center free from cars and motorbikes have been arranged by the municipal administration of Acerra (Naples), led by mayor Tito d’Errico, for the next two Sundays, 31 March and 7 April. The decision, the Municipality explains, was taken after the success of the two previous ‘green’ Sundays, and the environmental sustainability measure which “through the incentive of cycle-pedestrian mobility, aims to ensure full enjoyment of the spaces by enhancing the social use of the territory”. From 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, the pedestrian area will cover via Leonardo da Vinci (from the intersection with via Conte di Acerra), via Trieste e Trento, piazza Castello (the stretch between via Trieste e Trento and via Conte di Acerra) , via Card.

Casoria, Piazza Duomo, via Mons. Verolino, via Annunziata, via Roma and via del Pennino. “This is one of the various actions of the program – explains Mayor d’Errico – that the municipal administration implements for the improvement of air quality in which, in addition to those already carried out or in progress, various interventions are planned in the medium and long term. Urban policies based on the promotion of pedestrian mobility are able to trigger effective and long-lasting urban regeneration processes, suitable for dealing with the main critical issues that afflict every urbanized context, such as pollution and high car congestion”.
