The masterpiece is complete: the A1 volleyball series is a reality for Beatrice Negretti from Como and the Talmassons Fvg board of directors.
In a stadium in Latisana, packed beyond belief (over 1,500 spectators) the Friulians inflicted a peremptory 3-0 on Futura Giovani Busto Arsizio, closing the series of the women’s A2 promotion final in just two games, thus arriving at the historic first time in the top league in the squad.
It is also a record at a regional level because Friuli Venezia Giulia had never played on the fields of the first category of pink volleyball. The goal achieved is even more prestigious if we consider the young age of the squad and the placement (only fourth place) in the promotion pool, reversed in the matches first against Città di Messina and then against Futura Giovani in the play offs (also surpassing the disadvantage of the possible away match).
Beatrice Negretti is the captain of the Friulian team and immediately believed in the project, as soon as she arrived last summer, so much so that she moved down a category. «I’ve been saying it since the beginning of the year and I believe it – the Como libero commented in the interviews at the end of the match -. Even though it was a season of ups and downs, we always believed in it, and this kept us going even in the most difficult moments. I’m so happy”.
The Como native (born in 1999) brought her wealth of experience. «It certainly helped to have someone with more experience on the team – he clarified shortly before the celebrations began -. But also the fact of having a very young roster, and above all having always worked and pushed hard. You can see the growth we have had during the year.”
