For months there has been talk of a possible participation of Federica Pellegrini a Dancing with the Stars: sources close to Rai production have in fact often reported Milly Carlucci’s strong interest in the swimming champion. In the last few hours, however, the negotiations have finally reached a conclusion: SuperFede, barring any unexpected developments, will be one of the contestants of the next edition of the show.

Federica Pellegrini and her participation in dancing with the Stars

There are just a few months left until Milly Carlucci and her family return to TV Dancing with the Stars, but for weeks the predictions about the show’s possible contestants have been going crazy. Among the most accredited names, there are those of Belen Rodriguez and Nina Moric, as well as that of Federica Pellegrini. But if in the case of the two showgirls there is still no official confirmation, the participation of the swimming champion seems almost certain.

The weekly reveals it Moreover, who explains: “It’s not long until the signature, but the deal is practically done and it can be said that Federica will be one of the stars of the Raiuno variety show”. Again according to the authoritative source, “towards the end of August, the champion will move to Rome with her husband and little Matilde to start training in the gym of the Foro Italico auditorium (…) and they will remain there until Christmas, when Milly Carlucci’s program will end”. Finally, an indiscretion about debut date of the program on TV: “On 19 July, at the official presentation of the next schedules, Rai will formalize the start of the nineteenth edition of Dancing with the Stars Saturday 28 September”.

While we will almost certainly see Federica on the dance floor in September, the same cannot be said for another contestant that Milly Carlucci would have strongly wanted in the cast: Chiara Ferragni. In this regard, the presenter herself revealed a few days ago: “Every day I discover that we are in the running for someone, but it is part of the glittering world of casting”. Words that have all the flavour of a true denial.

Federica Pellegrini’s TV Career

After saying goodbye to the swimming lanes, which crowned her the most successful Italian athlete ever in the pool, Federica Pellegrini was able to reinvent herself by carving out space on social media and on the small screen. Already in 2010, in fact, the champion had participated as a “dancer for a night” in the sixth edition of Dancing with the Stars, in tandem with dance teacher Lucio Cocchi. Together with her husband Matteo Giunta she was instead among the competitors of Beijing Express, and held the role of ad judge Italia’ s Got Talent.

On social media, however, the former athlete shares with her followers many moments of her new daily life as a mother: on 3 January this year she gave birth to her firstborn Matilde, born precisely from her relationship with Matteo Giunta. Although she speaks openly about breastfeeding and sleepless nights, Pellegrini has chosen not to show (at least for now) the little girl’s face: “I would like to show her to the whole world, but I think that the social world is not a safe place for her at the moment… then in a few years, who knows”. In any case, we are certain that from next September Matilde will also be there to cheer for her mother on TV.
