Paolo Del Debbio gives way to the national team. Tonight, June 20, 2024, there will not be the usual episode of Forehand and backhand, the historic talk show that has held center stage on Thursday evenings on Rete 4 for years. Given the almost summer period, many might think that the program has gone on holiday; instead, it is a programming change adopted by Mediaset for reasons of television competition.
Forehand and Reverse, Paolo Del Debbio is not on air tonight: why
This evening, Forehand and backhand will be replaced on Rete 4 by The Terminal, Steven Spielberg’s iconic film starring Tom Hanks as a traveler trapped in the international terminal of New York airport for months. The reason? In the absence of official explanations provided by Mediaset, it is reasonable to hypothesize that this is a move adopted to avoid clashing against the most difficult television opponent of all, namely the national football team. This evening, in fact, the attention of viewers will be catalyzed by the Italy – Spain match, valid for the second round of the 2024 European Championship groups. An event that will certainly ‘cannibalize’ the television evening, leaving crumbs to the rivals. For this reason, in all likelihood, Del Debbio will have decided to skip a round and avoid an episode which, inevitably, would have achieved a share figure significantly lower than the parameters of Forehand and backhandwhich in recent months has achieved attractive share figures, consistently breaking through the one million viewer threshold.
Forehand and Reverse, when will it be back on air?
The absence of the June 20 episode was announced by the talk’s Instagram profile: “Thanks to all of you who followed us last night: #Drittoerovescio exceeded 1,000,000 viewers with an 8% share, marking peaks of over 1,700,000 spectators and an 11.2% share! Paolo Del Debbio and his team are waiting for you on Thursday 27 June!”, is the message posted in the last post published last Friday in reference to the excellent share figure obtained from the last episode of Forehand and backhandwhich made the news above all for the interview with Christian Di Martino, the policeman stabbed by a man at the Lambrate station (Milan) on the evening of 8 May 2024. This is, however, a temporary stop, because, unlike of other talks (like Out of the core), For Forehand and backhand It’s not vacation time yet. Del Debbio will return to the air for at least one more episode, scheduled for Thursday 27 June 2024.
