MasterChef was the first cooking show on Italian television, which aired in 2011 for the first time and which effectively opened the door to the phenomenon of culinary programs. The competition between the best amateur chefs in Italy immediately enthralled the audience at hometo the point of pushing many viewers to give their skills a chance in the kitchen.
Not only that, but the show also made the chefs real stars: just think of Carlo Cracco, Joe Bastianich, Bruno Barbieri, Marco Locatelli and above all Antonino Cannavacciuolo. To win the seventh edition of MasterChef Italia it was twenty-year-old Simone Scipioni from Montecosaro, at the time a student in food science. The boy at the time managed to convince all the judges, namely Bruno Barbieri, Joe Bastianich, Antonino Cannavacciuolo and the new entry, although short-lived, Antonia Klugmann, winning the 100 thousand euro final prize and naturally the publication of one of his books of recipes.
For Simone, a real revenge, also given his rather tragic personal history: the boy had in fact lost both his parents at a very young age, and from that moment on he had gone to live with his grandmother with his sister. Everyone expected that he would join the team of a starred restaurant or even open his own place, but this was not the case, and after a few years in which he participated in cooking shows and culinary events around Italy, he decided to make a drastic change to his life, first taking a break from cooking and then deciding to take a sommelier course.
It is likely, therefore, that Scipioni will now decide to continue with this unusual career, a position that is actually increasingly in demand in the most chic restaurants, and will enjoy this new phase of his young life. Furthermore Simone has also become a father, but not of a baby as many would expect, but of a splendid kitten, Gilda. Professional kitchens seem to be, at least for the moment, just a memory for him.
