«I like twerking, I don’t see the scandal»

Elettra Lamborghini has never played with it, “I swear, not even as a child.” Yet, the single that marks his return today is called: Saying, doing, kissing. A collaboration with Shade (“I needed her voice”) which is a candidate to become the hit of the summer. A word that the singer is not afraid of: «A catchphrase is a hit, so of course it’s nice to call it that», she explains, a specialist in dismantling clichés with the natural candor of someone who really doesn’t understand what the problem is.
He comes back with a Latin sound, with the sounds of Mexico.
«I was very undecided. There are several songs coming out aimed at dance, which is working at the moment, and I didn’t want to be left behind. So I thought a lot about whether to change, but in the end my genre is reggaeton, it’s what I like: making music to have fun. So it’s ok to evolve, but I love this thing here.”
He chose not to be fashionable, then?
«Latin seemed to be going down in Italy. I asked my fans for advice: they told me to be myself rather than do like many artists who sing songs that don’t reflect them to try to sell.”
Have you ever thought about writing your own songs too?
«I have a team of composers who have been following me since Pistolero, who I trust. I’m not good at writing.”
In the song she says that she wants to be treated like a queen so that those who are with her don’t end up like Shakira: left.
«But yes, I say that as a joke. I don’t feel like a queen at all even if they called me the twerking queen.”

Shakira, however, texted her ex with the songs. Fedez too, recently. Could she ever?
«I would never do it, if there are messages in my songs they are random. Then I have nothing to say, I’ve been married for years. But music needs hype, marketing: behind a song there is a commercial plan.”
Pragmatics. Have some of your colleagues ever looked at you snobbishly for this?
«Some artists are too complaining, I say to take it more calmly and live life with irony. Others are annoyed by the fact that the choices made to captivate the public work in the end, but a good song is no longer enough to make music. I myself sometimes feel like a boomer.”
Elodie, Annalisa, her: is it time for women?
«I’m very happy for them: they deserve it, we deserve it. We women should do more collaborations to be even more meaningful. It’s not easy for us: it’s nice to see their success.”
Yet even today, female artists are often judged also for their bodies. She challenged everyone by twerking.
«I always didn’t care: twerk is a dance, it’s as if you were criticizing a split. I’m not shocked by anything and for me nothing is embarrassing, but then: how should someone go on stage? Young people are more educated.”
In the song he praises the “Italian holiday” but the sound is South American.
«It wouldn’t have worked with the Italian one. What matters is to reiterate that we are greatly envied in the world because we live in Italy.”
Patriotism? Holiday sovereignty?
“But no, it’s just the truth.”
