researchers’ warning about the dangers of bisphenol A

Drinking give her bottles of plastic And dangerous for health and can increase the risk to contract the diabetes type 2. A new one studyin fact, found direct evidence linking a chemical substance used to produce plastics and resins, and therefore packaging for Food and beverages, with our body’s ability to regulate sugar metabolism. Research has highlighted the need to reconsider safety limits for exposure to this substance, BPA (bisphenol A).

As Independent reports, the research was published in the journal Diabetes and shows that BPA can reduce sensitivity to insulin, the hormone responsible for regulating sugar metabolism. The study will be presented at the 2024 Scientific Session of the American Diabates Association and aims to reconsider the safety limits for exposure to the substance present in bottles and packages.

Other previous research had demonstrated bisphenol’s effect on hormones in humans, but none of this had proven the increased risk of diabetes in adults. 40 healthy adults participated in the study and were given, every day, either a placebo or 50 micrograms of BPA per kg (of weight), an amount that is within the limits considered safe by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). After four days, those who had received a dose of BPA began to show a reduced reaction to insulin, whereas this was not the case in people who had been given the placebo.

To overcome this problem, the use of glass or metal bottles is suggested, especially since several other studies have highlighted problems relating to plastic. Research recently published in Eco-Environment & Health, for example, showed that plastic water bottles, when exposed to the sun, can release harmful chemicals.
