“I can’t believe you’re no longer here. Legnano and your beloved Palio will miss you. We will miss your joyful enthusiasm and your desire to always do new things. Rest in peace Chicco, beloved cousin” these are the words written on Instagram by Antonella Clerici60 years old, still hospitalized at the Regina Elena Institute in Rome. Roberto “Chicco” Clerici he passed away suddenly at the age of 78. In the past he had been Captain and Grand Prior of the Contrada San Magno in Legnano, for years a point of reference for the historical parade and the Permanent Costume Commission. He was assistant director for major fashion events and followed 18 editions of Miss Italy.
After emergency ovarian surgery for Antonella Clerici the tragic news arrived upon awakening. The presenter herself announced her mourning, supported by her partner Victor Garrone and the many friends at his side.

The presenter had shared a shot on Instagram on Thursday to talk about her fluctuating health conditions. Rai’s face was in fact subjected to emergency surgery due to a delicate clinical situation created after the discovery of what many consider to be a tumor: “My gynecologist reminds me that I have to check an ovarian cyst – she says Antonella Clerici – a tsunami starts from there. MRI, hospitalization, operation. Hello ovaries. All went well. Now a little convalescence… See you soon,” she wrote on social media.

There is no reference to a tumor, but the ovarian cyst was probably found to be compromised during the check-up. Then the cold shower. While still on the hospital bed she learned the tragic news: the death of a very close relative. The presenter shared on Instagram the pain of the passing of her cousin, with whom she seems to have had a really good bond: “I can’t believe you’re no longer here…”. Accompanying the post, you can see a photo of Roberto, known as “Chicco”, born in 1946, with a lit candle next to him.
