This is a capital contribution provided by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and managed by Invitalia. What is the electric column bonus

The electric column bonus 2024 for businesses and professionals it is an incentive introduced to support the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructures by businesses and professionals. The budget is 87.5 million euros divided as follows:

  • 70 million for the purchase and installation of charging infrastructures with a total value of less than 375,000 euros by companies;
  • 8.75 million for the purchase and installation of charging infrastructures with a total value equal to or greater than 375,000 euros by companies;
  • 8.75 million for the purchase and installation of charging infrastructure by professionals.

Who is entitled to the 2024 electricity column bonus

Until June 20, 2024, businesses and professionals can request the 2024 electricity column bonus. But what are the requirements to be met?

Requirements for businesses

Companies of any size, operating in all sectors and throughout Italy, in possession of the following requirements can apply for the 2023 electricity column bonus:

  • are based in Italy;
  • are active and registered in the Business Register;
  • they are not in difficulty, as defined by the exemption regulation;
  • are registered with INPS or INAIL and have a regular contributory position, as resulting from the single contribution regularity document (DURC);
  • I am in compliance with tax obligations;
  • are not subject to insolvency proceedings and are not in a state of bankruptcy, liquidation, including voluntary liquidation, controlled administration, composition with creditors or in any other equivalent situation pursuant to current legislation;
  • have not benefited from a total amount of de minimis aid which, together with the amount of the benefits granted under this measure, causes the ceilings established by the de minimis regulation to be exceeded;
  • have not received or requested any other public contribution for the expenses covered by the contribution provided for by this measure;
  • are not subject to disqualification sanctions pursuant to article 9, paragraph 2, of legislative decree 8 June 2001, n. 231;
  • have not received and subsequently not reimbursed or deposited in a blocked account aid on which a recovery order is pending, following a previous decision of the European Commission declaring the aid illegal and incompatible with the common market;
  • are up to date with the repayment of sums due in relation to provisions for the revocation of benefits.

Requirements for professionals

However, professionals who meet the following requirements can request the 2024 electricity column bonus:

  • have a turnover, in the last VAT return sent to the Revenue Agency, not less than the value of the charging infrastructure for which the contribution provided for by this measure is requested. For professionals who apply the flat rate regime, the value of the charging infrastructure cannot exceed 20,000 euros;
  • have not received or subsequently reimbursed or deposited in a blocked account the aid declared illegal or incompatible by the European Commission;
  • are up to date with the repayment of sums due in relation to provisions for the revocation of benefits;
  • are up to date with the payment of social security and welfare contributions;
  • I am in compliance with tax obligations;
  • have not received or requested any other public contribution for the expenses covered by the contribution provided for by this decree.

How the electric column bonus works

The electric column bonus 2024 may be required for the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Various types of shopping can be facilitated including:

  • purchase and implementation of charging infrastructure;
  • connection to the electricity grid as per the connection estimate issued by the network manager, within the maximum limit of 10% of the total eligible cost for the supply and implementation of the charging infrastructure;
  • design, works management, safety and testing costs, up to a maximum of 10% of the total eligible cost for the supply and implementation of the charging infrastructure.

In any case, for example, expenses for:

  • duties, taxes and charges of any kind;
  • consultancy of any kind, with the exception of those provided for in letter c);
  • land and buildings;
  • purchase of services other than those envisaged, even if functional to the installation;
  • building, construction and operation authorisations.

For the purchase and installation of charging infrastructures with a total value of less than 375,000.00 euros by companies. While for the purchase and installation of charging infrastructure by professionals, which have a turnover not lower than the value of the charging infrastructure.

For professionals who apply the flat rate regime, the value of the charging infrastructure cannot exceed 20,000.00 euros (the turnover can be deduced in line VE50 from the last VAT return sent to the Revenue Agency).

How to apply for the charging station bonus

To submit the application for the electronic column bonus it is necessary to access the new Personal Area of ​​the Invitalia website via the public digital identity system (SPID), electronic identity card (CIE) or national services card (CNS). You have until 5pm on June 20, 2024.

Once you have entered the personal desk area, you can choose the incentive for which to apply or ask for more information via the “Talk to me” service, and then choose “Electric charging stations” using the appropriate drop-down menu and fill out the application in its entirety: completion requires possession of an active certified email address (PEC).
