In recent years the issue of the security of supply chains and in particular the need to guarantee the continuity of supplies – after the many bottlenecks created as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and then the war between Russia and Ukraine – has become central for European businesses.
The solutions conceived and developed were of different types, but they all had at least the common denominator of the desire to reduce distances from suppliers and increase control over the supply chain.
The initiative of We.Do Holding, a Paduan group in the furniture-design sector, was born from this need, which presented «Supply Echosystem», a project that has two objectives: to give companies in the production chain the possibility of benefiting from a system of solid and reliable supply chain certification and rating, of new financial instruments and of real possibilities of being more sustainable (also through the sustainable supply chain contract signed with Intesa-Sanpaolo); and implement an osmosis of skills between the parent company, its companies and the supplier chain, according to the contractual model of business networks.
Today, the We.Do Holding group (330 million euros in turnover in 2023 and 28 million euros in Ebitda) is made up of 11 companies, which design and produce systems and solutions for the home, corporate and project worlds ( kitchens, living rooms, sofas, office furniture and seating, lighting, bathroom furniture, medical devices and furnishings). With the contract division it operates as a general contractor for turnkey projects, and also follows the interior design of the projects, dealing with the building envelope in its entirety, from construction to the supply of furnishings and complementary services such as energy management and operational rental.
In the 2025-2028 industrial plan, which will be approved in the coming months, not only the construction of buildings, furnishings and the supply of technology will be set as group objectives, but also the management of sustainable services, such as utilities and production energy.
