‘Solidarity ball’, on the field for Nepal

The 17th edition of the ‘Pass the solidarity ball’ organized by SOS Children’s Villages took place yesterday at the municipal field of Morbio Inferiore. The sporting event involves local companies with the aim of raising awareness of the foundation and its fundraising programs for children around the world.

Teams made up of employees of Acer Europe, FoxTown, Mikron, My Medacta, My Medacta Pro, Pkb Bank, Rapelli and Team Oati took to the field. The winner of the tournament was the Pkb Bank team that performed best on the pitch, receiving the Fairplay cup, the most important. For sporting performances, however, the Acer Europe SA team stood out.

The aim of the day is to support, thanks to the contributions paid by the participating companies, a program to promote equal education by SOS Children’s Villages for the children of Bharatpur (Nepal) after the Covid-19 pandemic. In Nepal, despite significant improvements, poverty remains widespread. The pandemic has hit the country hard, depriving many families of their income. When the last lockdown was lifted, their children did not return to school because the families could not afford to buy school supplies or because the children were too far behind schedule.
