National Fiom-Cgil – Bosch. The 1,600 workers in Bari are at risk

National Fiom-Cgil – Bosch. The 1,600 workers in Bari are at risk
Descriptive text here

The ecological transition together with the lack of an effective industrial plan are leading to the closure of the Bosch factory in Bari, where around 1,600 people work, the majority of whom work in the production of engine components. As social partners we have done everything we could, but it is not enough: this is why we ask the Government to immediately convene a discussion table.

The allocation of production of components for e-bikes to Bari has not only not compensated for the declines in diesel volumes, but is in turn decreasing by 50% compared to expectations. Either Bosch starts a serious production diversification, or the Bari plant will close.

As social partners we ask Bosch to respect the commitments made in the July 2022 agreement, and therefore to work towards the search for new products, even beyond the automotive sector with the right investment support.

We ask politicians to support industry in general and therefore also Bosch in this delicate transition so that yet another social drama does not occur.
