The TikTok case
The TikTok platform was developed in China by the ByteDance company. There are billions of people who allow themselves to be addicted to the flow of gods every day short content present on the social network. What lies behind all this, however, has some to contend with geopolitical scenarios which cannot be ignored.
For this reason, TikTok has been at the center of attention for years in the United States. The risk that has been glimpsed in the use of this social network, in fact, is that the platform collected personal data on American users so as to be able to direct public opinion stars and stripes.
The future of social media
In reality, ByteDance had already launched into Texas Project, which planned to “detach” the American platform from the international network. According to CongressHowever, this is not a sufficient practice to avoid the leakage of sensitive information. In recent days, therefore, Joe Biden signed the law which officially bans TikTok from the States.
Now the Chinese company will have nine months to decide whether close its doors within American borders or sell to some buyers. Some rumors, however, seem to indicate that ByteDance might appeal to court following the imposed ban.
