Condominium stalking, “he is sane”

Condominium stalking, “he is sane”

His thinking is not always coherent and clear. And his answers often describe situations that have no relation to the story. Several times he has also claimed that there is a conspiracy against him. But overall “he is to be considered capable of understanding and wanting”.

Conclusions, the one expressed yesterday morning by the psychiatrist Roberto Zanfini before judge Corrado Schiaretti, resulted in the indictment for condominium stalking of a 46-year-old of Albanian origin resident in Faenza and defended by the lawyer Nicola Laghi. The targeted family, protected by lawyers Lorenzo Valgimigli and Filippo Plazzi, has already had the opportunity to join as a civil party. For a second family, also protected by the Valgimigli firm, the preliminary investigations have recently been concluded.

In light of a series of episodes, in February last year the investigating judge Andrea Galanti had ordered the 46-year-old to be banned from approaching his first family, a measure violated several times by the accused. The harassment was placed by the prosecutor’s office between 2021 and 2022. It starts from contemptuous attitudes such as grunting, making faces, the hand on the genitals and spitting in the face even during the covid-19 pandemic. And then there are insults and threats aimed at both eighty-year-old spouses: “I’ll throw my s… in your face, I’ll make your daughters disappear, I’ll give them a f… like that, I’m not leaving here: I would rather skip everything, you must die.”

On one occasion – the prosecution continues – he had mimed cutting her throat with a work spatula in front of one of the couple’s two daughters. In another, she had brandished a screwdriver menacingly. The pitch had gradually risen: see when he slapped the elderly man on the abdomen. Or when he, passing her on the stairs, had squeezed the old woman’s arm between the door and the wall. The couple had also found themselves several times with their car scratched or their tires slashed. An “unmotivated hatred” according to the investigators fueled by a specific purpose: to induce the neighbors to abandon the house, as had already happened in the past to the detriment of the previous neighbor.

An attitude which, at least for the investigating judge, denoted a “real obsession” for the property with the 46-year-old “absolute owner of the condominium”. In the preliminary investigation, the man had traced his behavior back to banal condominium disagreements linked to the use of the garage or to the fact that the neighbors did not want to do work considered important for him.

He had admitted that he had exaggerated in some circumstances, specifying at the same time that his rivals would sometimes not be outdone. However, the complaint filed at the end of September last year by the second family confirmed a possible attitude of possession of the building: “That man will not have peace until my family unit decides to sell the house and abandon this absurd condominium fight” , the landlady told the police at the Manfreda station before talking about damage to the car, threats with a knife that the 46-year-old would point to his throat while uttering the phrase “I’ll kill you” and even a squeeze on his neck.

The psychiatrist who last visited him noted that the man, when asked for clarification, “sometimes seemed to go around the question while at other times he didn’t want to answer”. Overall, however, he “clearly does not suffer from a mental illness.”
