MONTEVETTOLINI. Many jet set personalities from the worlds of entertainment, politics and business gathered in Montevettolini to attend the wedding of the daughter of Milly Carlucci with the prince Fabio Borghese58 years old, whose family has a palace in the heart of the historic village. The bride, Angelica Donati38 years old, arrived on foot, arm in arm with her father Angelo, in the Bargellini square of the town made famous by the painting by Leonardo da Vinci who, in 1473, at just 21 years old, drew the famous “Landscape with River” now preserved in the Uffizi, a view of the Valdinievole taken from the oratory of Montevettolini.
For the wedding the square was heavily armored from early afternoon, monitored by security personnel and municipal police. Representatives of the Roman nobility and bourgeoisie, from the world of entertainment and politics arrived. Among other characters, the former president of the Chamber and parliamentarian Pierferdinando Casini, Matteo Marzotto, Simona VenturaLucrezia Lante della Roverethe oilman Ugo Brachetti Perettithe journalist Nicholas Porro and other characters often present in Milly Carlucci’s broadcasts. Among the 200 guests, many were in tights. The ladies are very elegant in a riot of flowers already at the entrance to the super-armored church. After the ceremony, celebrated by the Capuchin father Alfredo, a family friend, the guests went to the overlooking Borghese Medici villa, also welcomed by the groom’s mother, Fabrizia Citterio, who is 86 years old. For the event, the village of Montevettolini – recently revitalized by the opening of a very popular restaurant-hotel-food shop and the renovation of many properties with the return of residents – experienced a week of fervent activities linked to the wedding of Angelica Donati, real estate developer, president of Ance Giovani.
The spouses
The bride is the daughter of the television presenter Milly Carlucci and the builder Angel Donati. The groom Fabio Borghese, heir to the dynasty of Pope Paul V, had already been married to Jacaranda Falck Caracciolor and is the father of three children. He works in the luxury hospitality industry and is a partner in a resort. He is the son of Prince Alessandro Borghese e Fabrizia Citterio. In the villa in Montevettolini, a splendid hilly hamlet in the municipality of Monsummano Terme, the Borghese family often spends periods of relaxation, and in recent weeks the newlyweds have often been seen in the village. Guests of the Borghese family, over the years there has been no shortage of famous faces at Montevettolini: members of European royal families, members of the Agnelli family, the Aga Khan’s children and famous actors, attracted by the beauty of the place, such as Michael Douglas with his wife Catherine Zeta Jones, and Silvester Stallone. In the days before the wedding, many members of the staff stayed and stopped to eat at the restaurant La Grotta di San Michele, right in front of the church where the wedding was celebrated.
