The author and presenter also spoke about her experience as director of Rai3

Daria Bignardi to “Tintoria”, the podcast by Daniele Tinti and Stefano Rapone, he confessed: “I had a contract for three years, after the second Big Brother I got pregnant so as not to do the third“. A resounding success for the reality show, a media phenomenon from which, however, the presenter sought an escape route so as not to risk the perpetual label, even if still today remembers Pietro Taricone fondly: “There was a particular understanding, he was a bit of a special boy”.

A long CV, historical titles such as “The Barbarian Invasions”, journalist, presenter, writer and also director of Rai3 from 18 February 2016 to 26 July 2017. An experience she would not do again: “Being director of Rai3 was perhaps the only truly great mistake of my life. I agreed to do it because it was a particular moment, I had fallen ill – a serious illness – I had had four cycles of chemotherapy. The proposal came to me: when you leave something like this you need not to think about it. And then I accepted this madness of being the director of Rai3“.

“For goodness sake, I also did good things at Rai3, for example ‘I’m Innocent’, a program on judicial errors, or ‘Civil Status’, on homosexual marriages. The people who worked at Rai3 were very good, I made a lot of friends. But it really wasn’t my role. I’m an author, but there it’s another job. To work in Rai you must have the antibodies. Was it a position of power? Ugly! I’m really not comfortable with it, it’s not mine, I really struggled a lot. In the end I resigned, giving up the money,” added Bignardi.

The presenter also recalled a meeting with Silvio Berlusconi: “I attended an episode of a Bianca Berlinguer program where he was a guest, but it wasn’t a good meeting: I had short, gray hair, I didn’t look very well, he looked at me with contempt. Well, there wasn’t a great feeling. He looked at me badly.” In recent years Bignardi has decided to dedicate himself to writing, except for rare appearances on TV, he has not hosted a program since the 2019-2020 season, when he hosted “L’Assedio” on channel Nove.
