Briatore has been appointed Executive advisor for Alpine, formerly Renaultt. The entrepreneur won two drivers’ titles with Renault in 2005-06 with Fernando Alonso. Even though Formula One has changed in recent years, Briatore remains one of the leading experts on the subject and Alpine is certain that he will make a difference in the company, which is undergoing changes.
A few days before the Spanish GP, the management of Alpine has made the appointment official with a specific press release: “BWT Alpine F1 Team announces Flavio Briatore as executive advisor. The BWT Alpine F1 Team can confirm that Flavio Briatore has been appointed by Groupe Renault CEO Luca de Meo as its executive advisor for the Formula One Division.”
Together with the former Ferrari, David Sanchez, Briatore will try to give to Alpine a new image, more established and successful. The entrepreneur is happy to return to Formula One, a passion that he put aside for a few years, but which he has never stopped following.
