Paolo Bonolis: “How is television now? A bit boring”
Paolo and Sonia they met in the 1990s and married in 2002. The couple has three children: Silvia, Davide and Adele. Paul he also has two children, Stefano and Martina, from a previous marriage. Their union is characterized by a strong bond and great complicity, despite the difficulties and challenges they faced together, such as their daughter’s health problems Silvia. To this day, for both of us, there remains great mutual affection and respect:

Bonolis, who began his television career in the 1980s as a host of children’s programs, such as “Bim Bum Bam” has become a leading figure on Italian television thanks to his charisma and ability to entertain. Speaking about today’s television, the host defined it as a bit “boring little thing“
“What is television like now? A bit like what it wants to be. There is a difference with the television I started with, at the time it was pioneering. Today we try to do something new much less, rather than pioneering it is colonial, a little boring perhaps. When you try to invent something new you always look at convenience, which is why today formats are often taken from abroad. When you have a format you already know who your audience will be, you have all the reference data and marketing the product. It’s so boring. Mediaset offered me four formats, I replied that I didn’t even want to see them and that if I had an idea I would write it myself Avanti un Altro was born, a degenerate madness. But it belongs to me, it’s been on air for 13 years now, it’s great, we have fun, it’s another dimension and people come with pleasure because they enjoy it, we don’t care about the game. nothing, the important thing is what happens. When I made Sanremo I completely rewrote it, as well as Striscia, Affari Tuoi… In my opinion they put too much stuff into Affari Tuo.”
Regarding the criticism received for his programs, the host declared:
“Criticism? I can accept being annoyed by someone, when you go on stage you have to accept both applause and boos. Haters don’t exist, there are people who think differently. I just don’t understand why shout it in my face, I also don’t like many things but I don’t really watch them, they really should not watch me.On TV I’m not a traffic policeman, I spend myself and spending yourself at 40 is not like spending yourself at 60. An episode of Ciao Darwin costs me a lot of energy. The first edition we did White against Blacks, Gay against Straight… Themes that had never been addressed, but always with that playful spirit. The meaning is that pitting one against the other is a big ca**aalso because when they play together they realize that we are all the same. The thing that unites us is that we are all different, you know that pto**what if we were all the same. We sold the format almost all over the world except in China, it didn’t work there: they only made three or four episodes. There is only Chinese against dissidents, a breakdown of pa**e”.
