At the TV Festival the actor interviewed by Corrado Formigli: «At the beginning I slept in hotels by the hour»
It is a journey between personal biography and political passion that between Corrado Formigli (in the role of interviewer) and Luca Zingaretti, who grew up in Magliana (“a world made of violence and oppression where I learned to defend myself and get by”) and as a boy who joined the Party of Proletarian Unity for Communism.
Politics but also football, until his path changes when he enters the dramatic arts academy. A lot of training: «To save money I slept in hotels by the hour, I ate for lunch or dinner, for a long time I was a halberdier and I only had three lines». She remembers the boos in Venice for Il Branco (“I thought my career would be over”) and the success of Montalbano (“at a certain point I thought about leaving, the character risked swallowing me up”). Formigli has the joke ready: «We were also on air on Mondays, with the ratings I took certain blows…».
The TV Festival in Dogliani ended yesterday and stimulated by Aldo Cazzullo’s questions, Alessandro Araimo, CEO of Warner Bros. Discover, explained the guidelines of the Nove channel. Amadeus is a central and strategic investment, while Fiorello is a talent but difficult to include in the schedule, no third party project, no possibility of taking the Sanremo Festival away from Rai, easier to see a news program in synergy with CNN. Don’t shy away from the comparison, especially when talking about Amadeus: «It’s an important investment. We are talking about 230 appointments in prime time access (the time slot from 8.30pm to 9.30pm), as well as two prime time programs for 16 evenings”. Will he lead the Soliti ignoti? “Who knows. We are evaluating options for access and prime time. He has many ideas in his head and we haven’t yet decided which types of programs to focus on. Surely there will be something related to music which is his natural vocation. Everything is open. X Factor? I don’t think so, Amadeus has more of an aptitude for new things.” With Fazio last year and Amadeus this year the Nove has scored the two most important television successes. Could Fiorello also arrive? “I never met him. We need a very clear project, he himself has very strong ideas. However, for me it is complicated to include it in our Nove schedule at this historical moment. For example, the morning program would not be economically sustainable for us. At the same time, I don’t know, four evenings in prime time wouldn’t be good: we need to give continuity to our events to attract investors.”
The third pole is not on their horizons: «Ours is an integrated system that brings together linear TV, film distribution and the streaming platform». As for information, Araimo recalls that the group “also has CNN in its belly, any investment in information must be discussed with CNN”.
