Last May 2, several passengers passing through Milan Central Station spotted George Clooney and Adam Sandler. The first wore a baby blue jacket, striped shirt and mirrored glasses, while the second had a padded vest and dark glasses. Around the two actors there were about forty people wearing clothes from the nineties.
The news became public knowledge in a short time and ‘Hollywood Reporter’ immediately made it clear: George Clooney and Adam Sandler are in Italy to take part in the filming of Noah Baumbach’s latest project, produced for Netflix but with the title and date still top secret.
George Clooney’s visit to Laglio
The release date of Noah Baumbach’s new film starring George Clooney and Adam Sandler is not yet known, but what is known is that the Italian filming of the project will not be limited to what was shot at Milan Central Station.
As reported by ‘LaprovinciadiComo’, in fact, George Clooney (without wife and children) was spotted in Laglio with the crew of the new film. The actor, who has his Villa Oleandra in Laglio, is expected to shuttle between Lake Como and Tuscany, where he is expected for part of the filming which, according to the latest rumours, should take place between 17 and 18 May in Montalcino and ad Arezzo. A few days ago, the film’s production held a casting at the Pietro Aretino theatre, where hundreds of aspiring extras showed up.
Returning to George Clooney’s visit to Laglio, what is known is that the actor had dinner in one of his favorite restaurants, in Tremezzina. Among the possible guests were mentioned Riley Keoughthe granddaughter of Elvis Presley and his first wife Priscilla and the actress Alba Rohrwacherboth featured in the new film.
George Clooney’s decision to return to Laglio was interpreted by ‘LaprovinciadiComo’ as the “best response” to the many rumors about a possible sale of Villa Oleandra.
The actor and his wife recently bought the Le Canadel property in Provence (which includes an 18th-century mansion with a swimming pool, tennis court, pétanque court, a lake, a vineyard, an olive grove and a centuries-old park) and have long there is talk of Clooney’s imminent definitive farewell to Lake Como and Italy.
In September 2023, however, George Clooney denied the sale of Villa Oleandra (for which a value of 100 million had emerged). Through his spokesperson, he told ‘People’: “The first time I heard about it was when Page Six published the story. Everyone reported it but it’s not true.”
