Descriptive text here

The actor Michele Riondino is among the organizers of the May Day concert in Taranto, on the occasion of April 25th he published a post on Facebook which in recent hours has come to the attention of many users and is creating an uproar. The director of Palazzina Laf, known to the general public for having been the protagonist of the fiction “The Young Montalbano”, posted an old photo of Ignazio La Russa next to a portrait of Benito Mussolini turned upside down, a clear reference to the end of Duce in Piazzale Loreto, Milan. The shot dates back to 1992 and shows the current president of the Senate with other right-wing exponents next to a portrait of Mussolini (at this link Riondino’s Facebook post).

Not satisfied, Riondino wrote: “The really funny thing is that there was a time when fascists were more authentic, more bold, they were lions, even if only for a day”, is the comment on the post. “They claimed their identity without fear of being accused of being traitors and murderers of their homeland. Today, however, they are afraid to define themselves, to claim their faith. They betray their identity by swearing on the anti-fascist constitution and then by sitting in the armchair they become champions of the super shit, black belt in climbing on mirrors. I say sincerely. There are no more fascists than once. This is what the fascists of yesterday have become a lion’s day. Long live the resistance”, says the actor and director.

An attack that comes while the left, like every 25th April and 1st May, accuses the majority of authoritarian drift, an offensive that has reached unprecedented peaks this year with the accusations of censorship of Antonio Scurati’s monologue at Rai. Yesterday even the EU itself, through the spokesperson of the European Commission for the rule of law, Christian Wigand, had dismantled the sinister theorems: “The latest report on the rule of law found that the legal framework that regulates the media sector in Italy is robust and effective, while the media regulator is independent and well-resourced.”
